Using Menus (But Not Too Much)

Notation Player offers a convenient way for you to learn about the purpose and use of any menu command.

prcarrow To display Help for a menu command:

1.Click the menu, and submenu if needed, that has the command.
2.Hold the mouse over the text of the command name.
3.Without clicking the mouse, hit the F1 key. This will display the on-screen help topic that describes the purpose and use of the selected menu command.

Listed below is a summary of each main menu selection in Notation Player.

PlayerMenu

B8 File        

Open, and close MIDI, Karaoke and Notation (.not) files.

B8 Edit        

Add key signatures and clefs. Undo and redo transactions.

B8 View        

Determine how the Notation Player window displays the score (in Window View or Page View) and shows or hides the toolbar palette, song tabs, and status bar. Zoom in or out.

B8 Score        

Format the score. Re-transcribe the score. Change the measure numbering setup, collapse multiple measure rests, show or hide resting staves, and show or hide instrument names in the score.

B8 Perform        

Play and control the playback of a song.

B8 Setup        

Select the MIDI device for playback.

Set up transcription options.

B8 Parts

Select the part (MIDI file track, which is equal to a staff in the Player notation display) you wish to display, or "All Parts".

B8 Window        

Within Notation Player's window, arrange the size and positions of score windows for multiple songs.

Get help from Notation Player's online documentation or from Notation Software's web site.
