first attempt with ns
Hello,
I need some basic help. I can scan the sheet music I have as a TIFF,PDF, or JPEG file but how to I get any of those into the NS player? I have tried to import the file as TIFF but with diastrous results. Please help if you can. |

Re: first attempt with ns
Hi Milton,
Notation Software products will open and transcribe .mid and .kar filetypes, and keep all edits in their .not filetype. For getting a written score that you have on paper into a file that you can use with Notation Software products, you can either hand-enter it into Notation Composer (which you can try out free for 30 days) or you'll need an optical character recognition (OCR) application that translates graphic files or scans into .mid files. I use an inexpensive ($24) one myself called PhotoScore MIDI Lite, and you can read more about this process at our Article on Music Scanning Applications. ttfn, Sherry
