Default Re: Some orchestral music

Hi,

Thanks for the comment!

I know about contrabassoon and basses and I notated them knowing that Composer will not play them like it should.

Also sorry for writing all transposing instruments here like it should be played (not like should be written), but it was due to technical thing - all staves I added mechanically starting with "unknown instrument", so there was no "automatic" transposition where it should be.

PS:

Today I added string quartet where I replaced cello with double bass! And it is also notated octave higher than it should be played.

All the best,
Kompozytor

Hi Kompozytor,
Actually there is an easy way to make the instruments that play the tone as written, but sound an octave higher or lower. Just click on Staff/transpose instrument key, then make sure "Transpose instrument key" is marked and click next. You can then set your double basses and contrabasoon so their lines read "C below minus 1 octaves." Likewise, a piccolo would read "C above plus 1 octaves."

You can also set the real transposing instruments like horns and clarinets, that sound in a different key than as written here.

Hope this saves you some time.
