Version 2 support ending November 30, 2015

Notation Software Germany UG has released version 3 of our software, replacing the version 2 that has been in the hands of customers for many years now.  Going forward, we will focus all our effort on version 3 which is based on the latest technology. With version 3 we will support the full range of Windows versions from Windows XP (we still support it), Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 which Microsoft will launch in 2015. In addition version 3 will be released for MAC (OS X Mavericks, Yosemite) early 2015.  Therefore we plan to discontinue the support of Composer/Musician version 2 (current release 2.6.3) one year from now at the end of Nov. 2015.

The development of version 2 was started ~10 years ago based on Windows XP and the development environment Visual Studio C++ 6.0. Version 2 was launched in 2007 and very successfully still meets the requirements of everday musicians all over the world. Over this long period we have been able to support all Windows versions (Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1). In addition the concept has been very robust to support new music devices (keyboards) of many manufactures.

As everybody knows Microsoft discontinued the support of Windows XP this year (March 2014). The development environment of Notation Software version 2 (Visual Studio C++ 6.0) is unsupported since 2004 and works with Windows XP only. We also see more and more that version 2 does not support new type of keyboards anymore.
