Default Splitting Notes, Confused.

Hi, just started using the trial of Composer, and I'm running into a bit of a problem. I imported a MIDI of something played exactly as intended, it sounded perfect in my DAW, but when it was converted to notation, in 2 different places in the song, it combined 2 clearly played and properly spaced 16th notes into a single 8th note. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change that 8th note to 2 16th notes now. I can convert it from an 8th to a 16th, but then it automatically adds a 16th rest immediately after, and I don't seem able to change the rest to a note either for some reason. Is there some way to do this that I am just not seeing?

If anyone can help at all I would be incredibly appreciative. Thanks.
