Hi,
Here are 2 sets of piano pieces composed last year(ish). These are impromptu pieces that I enjoyed composing personally. Each set contains seven or eight pieces intended to work as one group. As the files are large I have uploaded the sets (albums) as a zips and a single example of the contents. Please note though the pieces are all very different, Set 1: (With German titles) farbe.zip (the album) http://www.mediafire.com/?wjlmz2yt51z And a single example from it) die verfolgung des jaegers.mp3 http://www.mediafire.com/?nzmurmjibzt Set 2: English Settings lexis.zip (the album) http://www.mediafire.com/?yz3wdz4nydk (And a single example from it) village seasons.mp3 http://www.mediafire.com/?znmgiimtytm Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy the music. regards -John. |

Howdy John,
I'd been listening to some of these as I'd do other things, but finally got to just listen. These were all intriguing to hear, and seem to indicate various moods you may have been in when improvising on your instrument. I'm just curious if you'd have the .not versions available for public perusal. I promise not to re-record them with honky-tonk piano sounds ;) ttfn, Sherry |

Hi Sherry,
I'd like to put the .not files up but not just at the moment for one single reason: the barring in the score. Frankly it's all over the place (as I expected it to be). The problem is not NC but I believe a general limitation of all software notion programs. Namely how to get the barlines in the "correct" place for improvised music. I have made at least 3 attempts at putting together a half-sensible post describing this and some ideas about how (maybe) such a thing could be fixed or at least improved. All abandoned as I get overtaken but events - and have given priority to finish so much part-completed compositions. The works in question were played in one take from handwritten sketches I'd prepared beforehand. (Maybe it sounds like that!). If I ever get the barlines where I want them I'd be delighted to post the .not's. best wishes -John |
