Default What Now, My Love Duet

This month, the two songs featured are in the genre of “Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass”. Both songs are essentially reductions of Alpert’s arrangements. I don’t know if Alpert was the original arranger.

This song, “What Now, My Love”, was written in 1961 by Gilbert Bécaud and Pierre Delanoë, and was popularized by a number of performers, including Alpert’s band.

For the most part, this arrangement is similar to what you hear on Alpert’s recording, but as the horn play is very stacatto, leaving quite a bit of open rests, I have added a little bit to the bridge, in measures 14-17 for the Alto part and 23-24 for both voices.

If you would like to see the chords, you can use the Composer command qscn to display them. I did not include the lyrics, as they don’t really match up with the rhythms of the horns.
