Default Page Title on Multiple Pages

Hi Sherry,

This is probably me just not holding my mouth right, again, but I can't get <songtitle> to show beyond page one. I use the same procedure for Page <page>, and it shows on pages one and two. I'm following the procedure on "Standard Page Text Such as Page Number". I click where I want the title to be on page 1, then click on Title in the Page Text Pallete. It properly pulls the song title from Song title and authors, but it doesn't appear on page two. See attached sample. Thanks.

Ralph

Hi Ralph,

This is an area where better feedback to the user would be helpful, and I apologize for the lack thereof.

Thanks for including the file - that was very helpful

The "<songtitle>" as it's placed on the first page will not fit in the same location on the following pages because of the margin settings. If you look in Format/Page Setup, you'll see the following dialog for setting the margins for the "first" and then the following "other" pages:

SongTitleMargins.png

Notice that the "Other pages" top margin is only set for 0.5 inches, which is typically the default "out of print" region on most printers. That leaves no room for the default top-centered placement of the "<songtitle>" text from the first page, which falls within the 1" "spare room" for the first page.

You can either (1) change the margin for the "other" pages to allow top/center placement of the title or (2) use the "Title" (Text/Page text/Title) and place it on the second page, then use the "which page" icon buttons to put it on the "all pages but the first one." The default placement here is to put it left-justified on those pages, but you can select it and move it to wherever you want.

There should be better feedback here to let the user (you) know that the top-centered first "<songtitle>" placement is only viable on that first page because of the margins. I've written this up as task 2433

ttfn,
Sherry

Thanks for the feedback, Sherry. Increasing the top margin to 1" indeed did the trick for me.
