Hi
Here's a piece I wrote some time ago, just put it through NC as midi input.

It's rather long - some 10 minutes!

Also an mp3 version on the gpo Steinway is here;

(~ 8Mb)

Hello John,

Whoa, that is a massive amount of finger work on the piano! Please tell me that this is for 4-hands 2-pianos, and not one poor sole pianist ;-)

I found some portions of this piece quite compelling, especially the areas where the harmonic motion picked up-- which was all the more convincing because the the expansive harmonically static passages preceding.

The piece felt sort of like Scarlatti had jumped into a time machine to borrow somewhat more complex harmonies and textures that came not long after his time.

Nice work.

Cheers

Hi Mark,
4 or 2 hands... ummm :-)

Actually I wrote the original outline of this work way before 2000 - and as I remember with a glorified midi editor! It took a longggg time.
I must say how well NC did with what was very much a "raw" midi input. I did very little to get it to play that is different from the score seen in the .not file. There are some obvious "fixups" but all in all an excellent translation of quite a substantial piece.
regards
-John
