Question Removing small rests

Trying to remove small rests (16th, 32nd, 64th, 128th, dotted 16th, etc.) but cannot make it work using operations I found in the system window or in the help directory.

Default Re: Removing small rests

Hi Barry,

This particular file (Barry emailed me at the helpdesk) reveals a small bug in Composer's transcription logic that we have slated for fixing. It deals with short rests occurring at the beginning of measures, and especially shows up when there is syncopation in a file.

The best workaround right now is probably to (1) select the rest(s) you don't want and then (2) click the "Hide rest(s)" button that comes up in the Notes/Rests palette toolbar.

When you select a rest, the Notes and Rests tab will then switch to the Rests tool bar - the "Rests" button will be "on" in the second level, and the third level "Details" palette, which contains the Rests tools, will be shown. It's the last button in that third-level "Detail" (tools) palette bar.

Enjoy!
Sherry
