Default Re: Automatic, unrequested Region selection

Hi,

The current behavior is as follows:

  • If no work has been done nor any region selected in a newly created file and you hit the "Record" button, by default the last staff of the score gets selected for recording.
  • If you've done any editing (eg. added notes or such) in the file and then hit "Record" without selecting a staff, a new staff gets added to the score and selected for recording to avoid overwriting your previous work.
  • If you select a staff using the Staff Select button and hit record, then recording happens in the selected staff. (This is the typical scenario.)
  • If you select a region, then recording only happens in that region on that staff ("punch in" recording).
It sounds like the first case is what you saw. Was this behavior different than what you've seen previously?

If the above doesn't help clear up the issue, please let me know more details.

ttfn,
Sherry
