Hi,

How do I tie 3 notes, eight notes, that have different pitch?
That's actually a slur, not a tie While slurs and ties look the same, and serve similar musical functions, they are - "mechanically MIDI speaking" - distinct. A tie combines two notes of the same pitch - eg. a quarter note and an eighth note - to make it sound like one longer note (which it is ). Such tied notes are often used rather than a shorter dotted note to help the musician count the time easier, especially if there are two voices on a staff (eg. a held note along with a "walking" line). A slur is used with notes of different pitches, and shows that this group of two or more notes are to be played smoothly legato, or "into each other".

You'll find the Slurs on the Expression palette, and after entering one you can grab the handles to shape it as you'd like if the default setting isn't to your taste.

Enjoy!
Sherry
