Default George and Ira worked so well

George and Ira worked so well together. They went on to Hollywood and made film versions of this song as well. The last one was with Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland. "But Not For Me" was Judy's song. These are the male lyrics here. I also have the second verse that Judy didn't sing, and since nobody of recent years has heard of Beatrice Fairfax, I replaced that name with "Dear Abbey", of whom most of you have heard. Somehow, George and Ira's song fits my mood today, so I'll share it with just my best friends here.

Why not a word from the master himself?

Default Re: Why not a word from the master

It appears the George quote got lost, or I can't play it. I originally submitted this. I got it from the George Gershwin "Spanish Page". I will try and locate the George quote again.
