Adding measures to one part only
Can anyone direct me to how to add measures (in this case four measures of rests) to one part only without adding to the rest of the parts? I accidentally had an intro on the piano part and didn't put the rests on the voice part as I was doing it. Now it just adds measures to everything.

Re: Adding measures to one part only
Hi,
Measures are added to the entire score, so it's not an option to add them only to one part but not the others. However, if you don't want a staff that has only rests to show up on the display or print out, you can use the "Staff/Hide resting staves" option. Or maybe I'm missing something? If so, please post a file and explanation for what we're shooting for ttfn, Sherry

Re: Adding measures to one part only
Sherry,
Thanks for the quick response. I'll try to explain better. I had a 4 measure intro to the piano part, but mistakenly added the voice part without the intro. So basically my voice part ended up being four measures ahead of the rest of the music. Is there a way to manipulate just the voice part to add those measures of rest in without doing so to the piano parts? Or will I just have to start all over and do it again? It seems like maybe I could make another file with just the voice and insert more rest measures at the beginning, then delete and add the new version in, but I am thinking (1) that might not work and (2) there is probably an easier way. Any ideas? |

Re: Adding measures to one part only
Hi,
Thanks for the explanation. As I understand it, you really need to "scootch" (highly technical term there ) the voice notes over some measures so that they line up with the proper piano notes. If so, then you won't need to start over, and you have a couple of options for how you want to do this. Option 1. Copy the measures with the voice notes, and then paste them into their proper position.
Sherry
