Default Welcome to the Notation Software Users community

Hi,

We would like to welcome you to our community, and give you a few tips on communicating with other musicians and the Notation Software team (who are also everyday musicians).

We seek to encourage each other. Life has plenty of stresses, and music is a great way to soothe ourselves and add some positive energy to our lives. Please post threads and comments accordingly.

If you're an existing member of our older (now archived) forum, then you'll need to register here on our new board to be able to post. The transition to the new discussion board did not allow registrations to transfer from the old board. You can easily register by clicking the "Register" link in the menu listing at the top of each page and following the instructions there.

Navigating around the forum is best accomplished using either the "bread crumb trail" at the top of each page, or the "Forum Jump" box in the lower right of each page.

The structure of this new forum is quite different than the very ordered structure of the old forum. Therefore, you may find that posts have moved to different areas of this new arrangement. (You can still find those posts in their old locations in the archive, which you can reach by clicking on the "Read the archives of the old forum" category on the Forum Home page.) We hope that you'll find it easier to post your own messages, or find other posts by having a more "open" structure. The "Search" function located in the menu listing above is a great tool

There are many, many options in this forum - how you want the forum to display for you, how or if you want to receive email notifications, and a host of many other settings. We've set the defaults to what we think will accommodate the most users We strongly encourage you to read the FAQs regarding posting to the forum to get oriented. You'll find the FAQs by clicking on the "FAQ" link in the main menu bar above.

Anyone is welcome to visit and browse through our forums, but we do require that you register to post.

One big note: when you want to add a new thread or reply to an existing post, you can "Preview" the post first. This is very handy. But then you must be sure to scroll back down to the "Post new thread" or "Post new reply" box and click the "Submit new..." button there. If you don't, your post will not be posted!

As always, if you have any problems, you can use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of any page to reach a real human.

We hope you enjoy your time here!
Sherry

Hi Sherry,

I haven't been active in the forums, but after receiving today's email I looked around, and I think I would like to be more active. I am also going to install the free trial of Notation Composer, as I have been using other notation software products throughout the past five years, and the price is right. I'll look forward to seeing what Notation products can do.

Warmly,
Andy

Hi djim,

I'd been wondering if you took off to a sun drenched island and had become a hermit living on tropical fruits an coconuts Go to your profile and sign up for email notifications. They're not the same as the old forum, but the end result is the same. I have put a few things in the Share section, and on Soundclick. Sherry has some interesting blogs. So there has been activity.

Great to see you again!

the best,
mgj

Howdy Djim,

And welcome back! Yes, the new forum setup is a good bit different than the old one. I've tried to include some helpful pointers about getting around, but it's probably just as pragmatic to get a good cup of coffee (or other favorite beverage), a time when you're not rushed, and just sit and mess about with it. There are a lot of new features to explore!

Lately we've had some questions and answers, some new music from M.G. and others, and a very cool "how to set up a virtual visual keyboard" post from Tango, that evolved from a question he initially asked! You'll also notice that we now have embedded YouTube "feed" capability, for folks who have posted videos using their music to share, or who may want to use their own videos in their blogs (you can embed them in a blog as well). If you run into any problems do let me know - I think we've got most of the settings adjusted, but there are so many that I may well have missed something.

So jump right in and join the fun

ttfn,
Sherry

Hi MG
You are quite right about that sun drenched island ( Bali ) but only during
Januari and Februari. Things are changing so fast, with so much features
on this Forum and on the web generally ( Facebook,Twitters,Blogs,RSS feeds,
instant messaging,chat forums etc..............).
I will check my profile and do some "refreshments" up there.
I do still use Notation Composer on a daily basis, mostly in combination with
GP5 (Guitar Pro software ).I took up (electric )guitar playing again, mostly blues lead soloing and stumbled upon a zillion of courses on the web, which kept me busy from excercising most of the time.
See you around again here !

Regards
Djim
