I decided to try out synthfont, and my SGM180 soundfile loaded fine. However, when I select a midifile, the tracks are all correct and the name is highlighted, but pushing PLAY brings up a message "Nothing To Play". I used "Open" after I loaded my default soundset. When I select another file, the same thing; all tracks change, but will not play.

Default Howdy Bernie, I've got

Howdy Bernie,

I've got version 1.034 installed (I see he has a newer version up which I've downloaded, but not installed yet), and I haven't had any problem opening .mid files.

I have had .mid files that I've downloaded from certain sites that were corrupted. Have you tried opening a file that you know works, perhaps one that you've opened previously in Composer, so you know it's not corrupted?

You might also want to download the latest version of SynthFont, as I know from the past that sometimes he's run into problems in a particular version and had to get out a quick update. Maybe the version you have was one of the problem ones.

ttfn,
Sherry

Thanks Sherry
I downloaded the newest version, but "play" gets the same response. If I rightclick on the song in the window, it plays with VanBasco, but I dont think with the soundfonts.

Default Howdy Bernie, If you'd

Howdy Bernie,

If you'd like, I'd be glad to try the midi file you want to play, and see if there's something funky (not like Fred funky, though ;) ) with it. You can either email me or post it here.

Or, you can try the SynthFont forum, and see if anyone there has had the same experience. I've not poked around there much, but I know you can access it from his main site.

ttfn,
Sherry
