Default Studio Drummer

Will I be able to use Studio Drummer with NS- I'm thinking about buying SD for the preset midi-grooves and ( variations & fills ). Will I be able to drag&drop into NS to produce tracks. Thanks

Yes, and no is the answer. Dragging the groove out of Studio Drummer in to Notation does give you the groove in Notation. (The drag out of Studio Drummer is just dragging a midi file). However dropping in Notation creates a new score rather than inserting in to the existing score and a specific location - dont know if it is possible to merge in.

Hi,

After opening the .mid file in Notation Composer (not in Notation Musician), you can copy/paste it into the range of measures that you want it in.

For drum grooves, though, there's an alternative you may want to consider.
MIDI Drum Files (http://www.mididrumfiles.com/) has a lot of free tracks, and used to have a newsletter sign up (don't know if he still has it) where you could receive more free ones each mailing. You can also buy a boatload of some hundreds of grooves. There are also free ones around the internet you can get by searching for "midi drum files" (the above link will come up first )

I use Notation Composer to work on drum grooves, and have given a description of what I do at the post you can read by clicking here.

Enjoy!
Sherry
