Default Getting Midi Recording to work with Yamaha UX-16

Hello,

I tried for hours to get my notation composr to accept input from my Yamaha clavinova keyboard with the UX-16 device. I tried all the advice in the documentation without success, I even bought a new midi cable to ensure that was not the issue. I was finally able to get it to work (by accident) and wanted to share the solution since I saw on the internet that others have the same issue.

In my case I had to do 2 important things:

1. my midi cable needed to have the lead labelled OUT connected to the IN on my keybaord. Similarly the IN lead had to be connected to the OUT port on the computer.

2. I had to disable my IDT audio High definition codec in the drivers section. I then closed notation composer and reopened it and then added it back (else I cannot hear sound on my computer).

Unfortunately I need to repeat step 2 each time I restart my computer.

Hope this helps others with the issue, and it might be nice to add this in the documentation as items to try.
