Default Re: Recording Multiple Instruments

Hi, Al and Sherry:

I have a DGX-500 (one of the ancestors of the YPT-200) and it only deals with type 0 midi files, ie., all of the tracks are saved as one track with each note having a specific mid channel assigned to it.

What I have done in the past is use (HERESY ALERT!) PG Music's Power Tracks Pro Audio to record the type 0 file, then resave it as a type 1 file (each midi channel in a separate track). Then use Notation, Inc. software to create the notation for the song. (Power Track's notation sucks.)

There are probably any number of freeware programs (likely older Win 3.1 or even DOS programs) that can record the type 0 file, a basically archaic format.

I'm surprised that the YPT-200 sends midi data out when playing back the demo songs. The DGX-500 doesn't.

Good luck.

David
