My ability to appreciate the types of music that come and go got stuck at Rock and Roll and the popularization of folk, which lasted a bit longer. To someone your age, that might as well have been in the days when Babylon flourished
. However "Break/Mist" does have an interesting and arresting sound. The otherworldly voices and the thumping bass provide a contrast which makes the title seem appropriate as either a phenomenon of nature or a metaphor. The dynamics give the piece emotional content. Sometimes the piano and the voices seem to get drowned by the bass, but I am assuming that is an intended effect--the breaking through. The mp3 recording makes a considerable difference; nicely done.
