Default Re: Suggest beginer's MIDI book

Hi, Briansdad:

A simple place to start is with the Quick Start Tutorial or the User's Guide (for more detail) under the Help menu in your Notation product.

In particular, the section Recording From A Music Keyboard will guide you fairly thoroughly through setting up and beginning to record your music.

Once set up, using midi devices is usually pretty straightforward and most people don't need to think about "sysex" and "real time controllers" and "registered parameters". There is a lot of power hidden under those terms, but there's a lot of music to be made without thinking about them.

Also happy to answer questions if possible.

Hope that helps.

David
