Thanks again for the thoughtful discussion on file handling. We've given it a lot of thought and looked at a lot of other programs and how they handle mutliple filetypes.

When the current behavior was implemented, we gave a lot of thought to what a user would be doing during any given session. We also understand that our different users have different methods of organizing their files, and it would be impossible to have a system that is perfect for all of us.

We have indeed expanded the number of filetypes that Composer can open and export. There are other programs that open and export various filetypes too, and our software is pretty much in line with "standard" behavior in the area of default folders or "last used" folders.

So, we came to the conclusion that "if it's not broke, don't 'fix' it." In other words, we will be leaving the file handling (default folder, file opening, and file saving/exporting) features as they are currently.
