Re: Notation Software, "Cantabile" VST host and more.

Hi Mark.

Thanks for your insight in ongoing development.

Concerning myself I am critical with built in sound sources as I want to play in realtime. This needs usually ASIO based low latency...

Lightbulb Notation Software, "Cantabile" VST host and more.

Hi.

I always found it difficult to make GM based midi music sound really well.

I think I'll let you know what I'm currently using to make sound with Composer. Because I want to play instruments...

Re: First Notation software run stalls on file load - FIXED

Hi Mark.

It seems that I found the issue today!

For short, the problem is not Vista but Vista OEM installations.

I guess a clean Vista installation may not show up the problem I struggled...

Re: Decrease velocity contrast works odd

OK.

An alternative to clean this up "proper" would be simply not allowing to perform this operation on single chords

In other words check for at last two timing positions to enable the...

Re: Notation Composer demo incomplete?

I think yes.

Just I don't know when its appropriate to ask as your installer is meant for all windows platforms but my experience is just limited to Vista 64bit... Asking all users all the time on...

Re: First Notation software run stalls on file load

If possible test on Vista 64 please.

Win 64bit has some more protection mechanisms than the 32bit versions so maybe the secret is hidden with 64bit only.

Thumbs up Notation Software is great

Hi all.

I have sent many posts the passed week that may give the impression Notation software is full of bugs or lacking a lot of features.

That is not the case. I do not buy bad software......

Re: Decrease velocity contrast works odd

Thanks for putting it on your list but take the time you need to change it proper.

I know I have sent many posts the passed week. Some address minor bugs. Others "inconvenient miracles". I have...

Re: Notation Composer demo incomplete?

As far as I remember the path to the templates has not changed after re-installation as administrator - but the folders access rights were completely different after that.

Before that I tried to...

Re: First Notation software run stalls on file load

Hi Mark.
I understand your problem. The findings with file access problems interfered and finally covered the original problem.

Here is the basic issue summed up once again:

1. I installed...

Re: First Notation software run stalls on file load

I am willing to do some further debugging.

Maybe Mark can tell me which tools to use - for instance to monitor file access of Composer during initial start phase.

When I try to open a non existing file from menu "File" - recently used files list it disappears after an appropriate error message - that's correct.

But when I do the same from the "Options" page...

Re: First Notation software run stalls on file load

I'm running Notation Software first.

But then any option to open a file creates that effect, via menu bar, dragging a file or choosing from the options page history - during the first start.

Re: Decrease velocity contrast works odd

I was just surprised that it matters which notes are selected.

My expectation of "contrast" operations was something like you calculate the average velocity of all selected notes, then determine...

Re: Recording/Editing channel pressure (aftertouch)

Thanks for the note about midi CC.

I was about to ask how midi channels of CCs is treated in recordings. Do I need to set up the input channel matching the staff output channel or is that ignored?...

Re: Cord name transcription to score?

Thanks for commenting on this.

I pretty well know that "voicing" and probably adding "groove patterns" to this process needs more than two simple thoughts and for sure this can't be rushed.

I...

Create performance from expression

I am not sure if there is a concept behind that some expressions can be converted to performance data and some others not.

Adding this for dynamics and hairpins should not be a technical problem...

Recording/Editing channel pressure (aftertouch)

Is it possible to record / edit channel pressure (aftertouch) ?

It's not a normal CC command but it would be useful to access it like other CC's, tempo or pitch bend with the "graph over notes"...

Re: Cord name transcription to score?

What I mean is to select a staff with cord names and start a function to transcribe these names into cord notes. A selection like "piano" or "guitar" could determine the generated voicing.

This...
