Re: Sharing an Old Score

Excellent arrangement with beautiful extended chords. I love the idea of close harmony in the string parts. Well done.

Re: New Symphonic Poem - Angel Meadow

Thank you both for listening.

Yes, of course I knew it was the software at "fault". I was just surprised by its prudishness.

Over time certain swear words become less extreme - as in

New Symphonic Poem - Angel Meadow

This is my new one.

http://composersforum.ning.com/video/angel-meadow

Worked on it obsessively for 3 weeks.

I won't give a Youtube link, as I will have to cut it in Youtube as it's over ten...

Re: Multi-Bar Rests

Yes - it works perfectly

That teaches me a lesson to always read the instruction manual !

Ps I always use your software to input the notes, and only use sibelius to add the final touches.

Re: Multi-Bar Rests

Hi Sherry

Had a quick play with hide resting staves as suggested, but for some reason couldn't get the desired result.

So if a clarinet has 20 bars' rest when you print out its part I want a...

Multi-Bar Rests

It is perhaps worth noting that the reason I was forced to use Sibelius for part-preparation is due to the fact that this software does not display multi-bar rests, so you could end up with a whole...

How about a list of clickable Italian terms ?

For anybody writing music a list of terms would be very useful indeed.

Sibelius has a few, but not nearly enough - so you go to the tempo text option and click on "allegro" for example and allegro...

I had a listen to this piece and enjoyed what I heard. I applaud your persistence and all it takes to produce this epic work. I only hope one day you'll be able to listen to a real performance. :)

Re: Mark Walsen - Two Piano Apple Pie

I liked the drive and momentum in this piece.

I imagine to get the maximum rhythmic effect both parts need to be spot on the beat, and as you confess, this is the only thing that is holding back...

Re: Mark Walsen - Parallel Intervals for Piano

Hi Mark

I listened to all of these pieces and enjoyed parallel 5ths the best. I could imagine it being in a collection of modern piano studies.

Second favourite was perhaps the exercise in...

Re: Is this finally the answer to converting audio to midi - even chords ?

Thanks for the two replies.

I think that this sortware starts an exciting new age. It is also, conversely slightly worrying how common it is in the pop world. Any sort of glitch can be fixed with...

Is this finally the answer to converting audio to midi - even chords ?

I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing when somebody posted me this link.

It appears that there is now a program that can successfully analyse an audio file of an instrument playing chordally...

Of course the guitar sounds an octave below written pitch - the pitch you have shown. Given that the...
