Change Time Signature

I'm trying to change the time sig in 1 measure ( say measure 14) from 4/4 to 2/4. I'm hitting Shift M , getting dialog box, typing from 14 to 14 and 2/4, but it keeps changing measure 15 also ??

Re: Change Time Signature

Hi, paulsig:

Measure 15 is changing because in going from 4/4 to 2/4, you end up with an additional 2 beats to deal with, so an additional bar of 2/4 is created to take of that.

Essentially, you're splitting measure 14 into two bars of 2/4 which become bars 14 and 15.

You may have to go to bar 15 and re-set that and the following measures to 4/4 to get your timing back.

Good luck.

David

Thanks- I found that the original measure changes to 2/4 and if you delete the next measure ( which also changed to 2/4) it works out
