Transpose instrument key fails for half step

The Transpose instrument key (qti) works incorrectly when the transposition increment is one half-step (up or down).

For example use any file with at least one 5-line staff.
1. Display a part with a single 5-line staff.
2. Transpose actual pitches... by 1 half-step down.
3. Transpose instrument key... note read as "C" actually sounds as "B" below minus 0 octaves.
4. Resulting notes are almost an octave too high--result should be the same as the original (except it would sound 1 half-step lower).

Compare to some correct behavior.
1. Display a part with a single 5-line staff.
2. Transpose actual pitches... by 2 half-steps down.
3. Transpose instrument key... note read as "C" actually sounds as "Bb" below minus 0 octaves.
4. Resulting notes are the same as the original (except it sounds 2 half-steps lower).

Strangely enough this particular transposition is important. Obviously, one cool thing about Notation Composer is the ability to play along with the music as it is played while reading the music from the screen. One competing product that does this costs $750. If you want to do this with a Bb clarinet you would use the Transpose instrument key 2 half-steps down. As demonstrated above that works fine. However if you want to do this with a Baroque-pitch instrument, you are out of luck because the instrument key for Baroque instruments is 1 half-step down!

Re: Transpose instrument key fails for half step

Hi Steve,

You're the first person to notice this very specific problem with the B transposition. It is written up for fixing (task 2105), and thanks for pointing out that baroque instruments depend on the B (half-step) transposition. I apologize for the inconvenience of the bug.

Best regards,
Sherry
