upgrades

upgrading from musician to composer should surely be discounted and not be the full price as for a new purchaser. after all much of the two programs are the same. i'm sure it used to be a fairer price. what's happened?

Of course, an upgrade from Musician to Composer is discounted.

Please see below the discounted prices which we offer. The discounts today are the same as with version 2.
There are two options:
  • UPGRADE which means that the former Musician license becomes invalid,
  • EXTENSION that the former license stays in effect for those customers who want to use the software on two different machines.
Please visit the Upgrade Assistant and insert your email address which you have used when the Musician was purchased. Then select your favorite option.

In addition we have the policy that in case somebody purchased Musician and within the 90 days concluded that Composer would have been the better choice, we exchange the product at the price difference with a little of a service fee.

With regards to "...after all much of the two programs are the same...", I honestly disagree. Composer includes additional features that had cost significantly more development effort. Just a few features of Composer "adding notes (huge difference), audio (WAV) export, soundfonts loadable, the great feature of GraphOverNotes, MusicXML export and many more". But yes, it is correct that both software versions share the same code base and all features of Musician are included in Composer.
