How to move a staff from Treble to Bass clef 8vb?

I have a staff that is in the treble clef. I want to turn it into a bass clef and move the notes down one octave. I can change the notes down in the treble clef with 8vb but when I change to the bass clef they are shown in original pitch with LOTS of ledger lines. Any trick to do this?

TIA

Hi,

To make the change you want, you will need to (1) take the notes down an octave and (2) change the clef.

(1) Select all the notes by clicking the Staff Select botton and then click the Notes, Rests palette, and maybe then the Notes tool button. All the notes should now be blue (selected).
(2) Hold the "P" (for pitch) key and press the "Page Down" key to shift all the notes down an octave in pitch.
(3) Double-Click on the clef symbol in the score and change it to the bass clef in the dialog that comes up.

You can read about these topics abd more in Help -> Users Guide and use the Index to look up topics.

Enjoy!
Sherry

Wonderful! Works like a champ. In order to sing the bass line of the song I would have had to tighten my knickers! ;-)

Thanks again!
