Christmas/Holiday Duets - Sleigh Ride

"Sleigh Ride" was written in 1948 by Leroy Anderson.

This arrangement has a very high level of difficulty, with a brisk tempo and lots of accidentals. The Leroy Anderson recording on You Tube has a tempo about 110. I have marked this version at 100, but you may want to slow it down even more. The lead sheet that I started with did not have what I call Bridge #2 -- the section from measure 40 through 64. Therefore, I had to try to figure out the chord structure, working with several midi files that Sherry provided me. I have included what I believe to be the correct chords, but I feel good about the harmony in the Alto part, whether or not the chord names match up. Also, Leroy Anderson may have written this piece with key changes in this area -- I chose to use accidentals instead. If anyone can provide me with a lead sheet that includes Bridge #2, I would appreciate it.

As in many of my recent pieces, you can use Composer commands to display the lyrics (qsl) or the chords (qscn).

Happy Holidays!
