Name That Tune!?

I sent the attached snippet to a number of my musical friends, and other than some saying, "Yeah, that sounds familiar.", I got no hits. Can anyone, perhaps someone with a classical background, identify this snippet of a theme for me? It sounds rather Mozartian, but that's just a guess. I'd like to make a recorder duet out of it for Cynthia and me.

Found! It is from Rossini's "Barber of Seville".

There's a funny story attached to this discovery - our dentist has had piano keyboard training, so I thought I'd ask him. His first response was, "My memory sees Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd and a barber's chair - doing, I think, the "Barber of Seville"". Thank you, kid's cartoons creators. Many a classical piece has been used in cartoons.

Just in case you'd like a trip down memory lane, here's the YouTube link:

I just got to listen to it, and immediately a picture of Bugs slapping Elmer's head with his ears went through my mind's eye :)
