arpeggio displays as notes

hi, just tried to use the arpeggio sign but it's displaying (in the score) as actual (short duration) notes. Can someone please say how to get the actual
arpeggio sign itself? Thanks

Re: arpeggio displays as notes

Hi,

To arpeggiate a chord:

  1. If you're adding the notes to the score, then add them first :)
  2. In Notes, Rests click on the Ornaments palette, then the Arpeggio button you want to use (there is an Up and a Down arpeggio).
  3. In the score, click on the chord notes where you want the arpeggio symbol and performance.
If the above steps aren't working for you, please either post a copy of the file with the chord notes location you are trying to arpeggiate, or send a copy of the file to support@notation.com

Hi,
perhaps the "Show ornaments" button is on.

Hi, Ah yes the Show Ornaments was on. However, I clicked it and the expanded arpeggio stays expanded. I added another chord and that works both toggling the arp. sign with notes just fine. I guess maybe something strange about the 1st chord in the bass. Thanks for your reply.

Hi,

Thanks for attaching the file. This seems to have revealed a bug related to the notes being of a particular "voice". The notes of the first chord in the bass line are all lower voice.

If you shift the attack of each of those notes back so that you have a chord of half-notes (or just delete them and add a chord of half notes, and make sure they are all single-voice, then the arpeggio works as it is supposed to. Thanks for the report!

Sherry
