Nimrod (Elgar)

I have made my own application with Visual Studio(using Leslie Sanfords midi toolkit. I can input all the notes in word processor fashion. I know some chords may not be quite right but I think 99% are OK. Not sure how it will sound on a GM setup as I am using Roland Sound Canvas patches.

I have spent several years now working on this project. It is designed so that notes can be entered from a midi keyboard without the rhythm, and the rhythm is then overwritten in a second pass ( a bit like typing into a word processor). This means that music (like Nimrod here) can be recorded by folks like me who cannot record live in real time well enough.

Most step time recording methods that I have seen on sequencing software make it very difficult to edit note lengths. (Try altering a minim to a crotchet in the middle of a piece of music and hope to get all subsequent bar lines correct.) With my program, any note, chord or note length can be altered without having to worry about the rest, just like altering a spelling mistake in a word processor.

If anyone out there is interested in sharing this project for interest or for further development please let me know via this thread.

Martin:)

Re: Nimrod (Elgar)

Thanks, Martin.

Elgar is an enigma to me, variously.

By the way, the file downloaded as a .not file for me.
