Hi All,

I'm shocked! "Funky Salsa" is rated #1 on American Idol Website for last week. It has never been higher than #23. It is listed in the "All Jazz" genre along with thousands of others. Now, I don't know what to do with this big head.http://www.notation.com/discus/clipart/happy.gif.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would go to the website and vote the highest rating for it to help keep it there. Thanks!!!

Hi Fred,

Having liked the piece all along, I'm not the least bit shocked, but glad some listeners came along who recognized that extra something your music has and decided to vote.

As to the big head, I'll have to ponder that one, or better yet, if ever I do something that gives me one, I'll let you know what I did with it ;)

Anything new coming soon?

all best,
mgj

As a result of your next question: "Anything new coming soon" ( or, "What have you done lately"), my big head is now "pimple size" again. When i realized my creative juices fled the coop, the big head downsized.http://www.notation.com/discus/clipart/happy.gif

Hello Fred!

Congratulations for the recognition your "Funky Salza" got at the American Idol Underground!

I submitted my high rating.

This is great that your fan club has expanded way beyond this forum. There are many more stages out there for your virtual band to perform at. I hope your virtual band will extend its tour to other virtual stages like American Idol Underground.

Cheers

Hi Mark, Thank you very much

Hi Mark,
Thank you very much for your congrats and your high rating vote. I only have a couple of songs on that site because it costs $25 per song to submit. They were the result of a few "free" submissions they sometimes offer. I only take them up on the free ones. The last one was the songwriter competition where the winning composition is sung by the American Idol winner (Jordin Sparks) and released as a single. The contract offer was fantastic. Patsy wrote words for me for "Dreams Come True" Unfortunately, I ended up having to sing it myself. ( Bad move! ) I couldn't find a good singer fast enough. Afterwards, I found out that my son's best friend's wife is quite a vocalist. She just won first place in a competition for Wal Mart employees from all the Wal Mart stores. What a voice! I'll get her next year!!! The song that won was certainly deserved. You may have seen the final American Idol broadcast where she sung the winning song. Mine didn't make it to the final 20 selections for the public to vote on. I understand it did well, but not well enough! It is a great web site and would encourage everyone to submit a few songs ( I think you need to register on the site to receive future emails offering Free submissions). Right now, American Idol is running a big competion searching for the best band. If some of you currently have a band and you have recorded your material, give it a shot!
Thanks again, Mark. I really appreciate your vote.
Cheers,
Fred
