Sometimes you may want to clone (copy) an entire staff, such as to back up a staff before you experiment with some new musical ideas for that staff. The procedure for cloning a staff is simple.
To create a new staff as a copy of another:
| 1. | If the staff controls are visible, then click the Staff Selection  button to select the first staff: |
| 2. | Choose the Clone Staff command from the Staff menu. |
Musician will display the Clone Staff dialog box.
| 3. | In the Clone Staff dialog box, confirm the staff you selected in step #1. |

Select a staff that you wish to copy.
| 4. | If you are cloning the staff for backup purposes, then you will likely want to mute the newly cloned staff. See Muting and Soloing Staves for instructions. |
