In Composer version 2.4, to save a song as a MIDI (.mid) or Karaoke (.kar) file, use the new Export as MIDI or Karaoke command in the File menu. That command replaces the File / Save As command.

To export a song in the MusicXML file format, use the new Export as MusicXML File command in the File menu, rather than File / Save As.
