Getting Free Software Updates to Composer

From time to time, Notation Software provides free updates to the Notation Composer software.  These updates offer new features, usability enhancements, and bug fixes.

 

If you have an Internet connection, it is easy for you to find out whether there is a free software update for Composer, and then immediately download and install it.  With a DSL or cable Internet connection, this whole procedure can typically be done in about one minute.  If you have a dial-up connection, it will take longer.

 

prcarrow To review the feature enhancements and bug fixes available in recent Composer software updates:

Note that you can skip this procedure and directly download and install the most recent update to Composer if you do not wish to review the software changes.

1.Choose the Software Updates command in the Help menu.

       That will take you to a "Check for Latest Software Update" page inside Composer with instructions.

2.Click the link for "Review Update":

       ReviewUpdate

       That will take you to a page at Notation Software's web site where you can review descriptions of recent feature enhancements and bug fixes in Composer.

 

prcarrow To determine whether there is a free update for Notation Composer, and to download and install it:

1.Choose the Software Updates command in the Help menu.

       That will take you to a "Check for Latest Software Update" page inside Composer with instructions.

2.Click the link for "Check for Latest Software Update":

       CheckForLatestSoftwareUpdateLink

       Composer will display the Web Update Wizard window.

3.The Web Update Wizard will inform you whether an update for Composer is available.  If so, confirm with the Web Update Wizard that you wish install the update.  The Web Update Wizard will automatically download the software update and install it.

       It will be necessary for you to exit Composer after the Web Update Wizard starts and downloads the update, but before it actually starts the installation of the update.  The Web Update Wizard will remind you to exit the Composer program.

4.Upon completion of the update, the Web Update Wizard will offer you the option to immediately restart the newly updated Composer software.
