The Clone Staff command creates a new staff, completely copying all of the notes and staff settings from an existing staff. Sometimes it is useful to copy just the "staff settings" from one staff to a second staff. If the second staff has notes in it, those notes will be preserved rather than replaced with the notes of the first staff.
In the Staff menu, the Copy Staff Settings to Clipboard and Copy Staff Settings from Clipboard commands enable you to copy the following staff settings from one staff to another:

 To copy the staff settings from one staff to another:
| 1. | In the Staff menu, choose the Copy Staff Settings to Clipboard command. |
| 2. | In the resulting dialog box, choose the staff from which you wish to copy the staff settings. |
| 3. | In the Staff menu, choose the Paste Staff Settings from Clipboard command. |
| 4. | In the resulting dialog box, choose the staff to which you wish to copy the staff settings. |
