Default the word [options] by opening a midifile

Hello musicfriends, There are plenty free midifiles on the web which can be easy be opened by Notation Musician. However there are also midisongs, for instance "Green green grass of home [options]". This file I cannot open with Notation Musician. Is there somebody who can tell me why ? Thanks.Ton van der Velden

Hi Ton,

My experience has been that sometimes audio files (eg. .wav, .mp3, .ogg, etc) get mislabeled as .mid files. Those types of files will not open in our software.

Alternatively, some files are labeled ".midi" rather than ".mid". These files will open in Notation Musician or Notation Composer, but you need to re-name the suffix ".mid". We do have a task in our list to address this issue.

ttfn,
Sherry

Hi, Ton:

Can you attach the "Green green grass of home [options]" file to a post so that we can have a look at it? I can't seem to find it through Google.

David

When you reply to this message, look down below the box to the Additional Options box and you'll see a Manage Attachments button.

Click on that and a dialogue box will come up with several Browse boxes on it. Choose one and navigate to your file. Once that's selected, click on the Upload box to the lower right of the Browse boxes.

Then simply Submit Reply.
