Default Changing a "not-swinging" notation to a swining one

Dear all,

I am not really familiar with the notation of swinging songs. I put down a song (I re-transcribed the existing notation) in a non-swinging style (straight eights and quarter notes), but would now like to transfer it in a way that lets me hear it swinging (notated as straight notes, heard as swinging notes) and at the same time beeing printed with straight notes . Is there any way to achieve this with a couple of clicks?

Hi, Snoops:

You can use the Re-transcribe option under the Format menu to change the feel from straight to swing.

Hi guys,

Actually the retranscribe will only change the notation that you see - it does not change the performance of the file (how it sounds.)

Right now there's not a "presto" button that will change the performance to a swing performance, but you can use the Piano Roll to edit the performance. Ralph Rayner has given a nice overview of that process somewhere here in the forum. I'm a bit busy at the moment and can't look it up, but you can Search for "Ralph" and "swing" and come up with a number of good posts

ttfn,
Sherry
