Default Sequential Note Entry and Rests

I really like sequential note entry for entering score to use as a rehearsal aid. However I have not yet found a way to enter rests without exiting sequential mode, entering the rest and then going back into sequential mode. This becomes a bit of a chore when I am entering an SATB score on 4 separate staves to enable selective enhancement of each part.

Have I missed something obvious please or is there a nifty trick to make this as painless as possible?

Hi Tim,

Did you see the "Cut duration" tool available in that palette? You can use this to cut the duration (shorten a note) and thus have a rest without leaving Sequential Note entry. Rather than enter a rest specifically, you're cutting the note short so that a rest results. Perhaps that part wasn't clear enough in the presentation of the technique?

Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

ttfn,
Sherry
