Default Howdy Peter, I love this or

Howdy Peter,

I love this organ and choir piece! I used to sing in a medium sized church choir (around 30+ voices) and we had a great organist. This piece brought back some very good memories for me on a personal level.

From your standpoint, it must be very satisfying, and a lot of fun, to hear your compositions like this rendered live as opposed to just the GM equivalent. Do you also sing? I know from previous posts that you play piano, but I'm wondering if you also play organ. I really enjoyed this performance.

Sherry

Hi

Yes, I am an organist as well as a singer - baritone. I sing a little better than I play - although I can manage pieces like the Herbert Howells Psalm Preludes, or this anthem, which is particularly straightforward, I have to admit that my Toccata for Organ (http://www.notation.com/discus/messa...tml?1160166176)
needs a lot more work by me to make it fully performable!

And yes - it is always a thrill to have a "live" performance of my music - sometimes I do wonder when I hear my own pieces live whether I really wrote them - or, perhaps sometimes...oh no did I really write that?!
