Default Making the middle of a measure visible

I'm usually notating songs with a 4/4 measure and I would like to make the second beam of that measure visible automatically, e. g. if I put a quarter note on the first beam and a half note on the second (and third) one, the half note should be splitted into 2 quarter notes (or if I put a dotted quarter note on the first beam, the following quarter note should be shown as to two eighth).

Is there any way to achieve this?

Default Re: Making the middle of a measure visible

Hi,

This is the first request for this that I recall - usually it's folks asking for the other way around (collapsing ties ).

There is not currently not a "default" that you can set to have such tied splits happen automatically all the time. You can enter the two splits that you want (eg. two quarter notes) and then add a tie to them using the Note/Ties palette tool.

ttfn,
Sherry
