how to get good sheet music
hi
I am using Notation for a few months now but cant find out how to get a simple piece of sheet music from a midi file; this is what I want ; A partition containing melody and chords for keyboard and if possible transposed to C, on a maximum of two pages to print out ! Is there anybody who can explain to me how to do this step by step, I am only an amateur concerning these programs ! many thanks greetings yves |

Re: how to get good sheet music
Hello, Yves:
It's pretty simple to do what you want in Notation products. First, select Transpose Actual Pitches under the Staff menu and set the piece to the key you want. Second, go to the Part menu and select Prepare Fake Book Lead Sheet. From there, just follow the dialogue boxes. If the piece is longer than the one page you want, you may have to play with the formatting with the Layout palette. There are tools there to shift bars and staves, to group them and connect them together. Alternatively, you could use a smaller font palette under the Format menu, with Font Size and Spacing. Hope that helps. David |
