Default Re: Accurate freehand notation?

Hi,

That's what Composer was created for in the first place.

Creator Mark Walsen wanted a program that would accurately transcribe Midi input and create high-quality notation from the result. Mark worked long and hard to make that happen.

Having said that, NO program is going to transcribe notation exactly as you think you're playing it, because you're not actually playing it exactly as you think you are! Computers are far more literal than your ears.

To that end, a set of tools for re-barring and re-transcribing was created within Composer, allowing for adjustment of the notation after creation to account for such things as "free" tempo and time changes. A piece of any complexity will take adjustment to make it "pretty" for the page -- but that goes for any program.

You'll find many posts on the forum here from users saying how "intuitive" they have found Notation Software products to be. That was Mark's original intent and what Reinhold Hoffman has worked to expand on.

I've tried the others, but Notation Software remains, dollar for dollar, the best value for money.

Try the demo -- you'll see what I mean.

David
