Default Re: Using SynthFont for better sounds and lower latency (Musician and Composer)

Hi friends,

I've got some direct links for a few soundfonts if you'd like to download them without going cruising These are all free soundfonts that I've found around the web, and are freely distributable so long as they are left intact, which I have done.

General MIDI (GM) soundfonts. These can be used with SynthFont as the "engine", and you won't need to change the instrument patch grid in order to hear the correct sounds when making instrument assignments for your staves.

Chaos
Taiji
8Mb (a smaller size, and therefore doesn't take as long to download as the other two, but not as nice sounds)

One specialty soundfont - Harmonica

Our Soundfont information page has links to lots of sites with a wide variety of instrument soundfonts.

Enjoy!
Sherry
