I have no idea what this procedure would be called, so I didn't search for it. I'm sorry if this is a double post.

Is there a way to double both the total measures and the note length without having to go through and manually change each note?

I've got a piece that goes up to three bars in some places, but goes really slow. I want it to look simpler, i.e. have the eight notes be quarters, the sixteenth eighth, etc. Then I can increase the speed so it will sound the same. Also, I have another part I want to combine with it that has the length doubled, and they're incompatible right now.

Thanks!

Default Hi Nathan, Notation product

Hi Nathan,

Notation products currently don't have a method of stretching the music out like this, but it is a feature request that we have on the "wish list" that we're working on

Best Regards,
Sherry

Default I was just about to post a req

I was just about to post a request for exactly the same feature - so a "me too please" vote on this one. It would be so very useful to be able to do this during composition when things can change so much. By the way, if it is implemented I think it should be possible to go ether way ie double the durations or half them.

Ideally if it could be for a selected (highlighted) number of bars up to the entire piece would be excellent.
regards to all.

Howdy guys,

Wish granted Version 2.5.2 includes a "Scale Meter" feature. You'll find it in the Staff Symbols/Meter palette and menu. Please note that using this will generate a new file (you'll be warned of that when you use it) so you should use it right when you newly open a .mid file.

You can use the Help/Software update command to update to version 2.5.2 if you haven't already, or visit www.notation.com/Redownload.htm to get the latest full installation file.

Enjoy!
Sherry
