Hi Alec,
That's cool! Nice job! Are you finding the software exciting to use?
I've been a little quiet lately...woodshedding. I am trying to switch from musician to conductor. Turning some of my previous work into full orchestral pieces. It ain't easy, but I am having the time of my life. Keep up the good work!

Regards,
Fred Winterling

Hi Alec,

Your Mario tune is fun.

Did you compose this in the style of Mario game tunes, or is this one of their actual game tunes? What method did you use for entering the notes: mouse point and click, sequential note entry method, step-time entry, or recording from a MIDI keyboard?

Cheers

Default I got the music from [url="ht

I got the music from http://gprime.net/images/mariopiano/ . it is one of the game tunes from Super Mario Advance 2, The underwater theme.

I entered the notes the hard way, i do have a USB compatible MIDI keyboard but i can't play it! (Not quite sure why i bought it) I will probably register my free trial BUT... I'm English and I only have GBP (£) would i be able to pay in GBP?

Default Hello Alec, There are other

Hello Alec,

There are other ways you can enter notes via a MIDI keyboard than by performing the music at full speed. For example, you can use the Step-Time entry method where you point the mouse where you want to add the note, and then play the note or chord on your MIDI keyboard.

You can purchase MidiNotate with GBP (£) using secure online ordering at www.notation.com/purchase.htm

Howdy,

Alec said:

Sherry responds:

I have a midi keyboard, too, and I don't play keyboard worth squat. But I do find it very helpful in entering music into Composer because even though I don't play it very well to listen to, I can bang out rhythms and dynamics ("loudness" of notes) quite well. I did have to learn to ignore the incorrect pitches Then, I just go back and adjust the note pitches as needed. Composer can record all the rhythms and dynamics on the first pass (or multiple, if I screw up - it has some great recording/punching in features for this), and then I just tidy up the pitches, which is also easy to do.

I find this to be a much quicker method (for me) than some of the others for things I'm composing from scratch, or from memory. It's just one of many ways that you can enter notes into Composer.

ttfn,
Sherry
