Volare Duet
"Volare" was written by Domenico Modugno in 1958. Volare is Italian for "to fly". This song is also known as "Nel blu dipinto di blu", which is literally translated as "In the sky painted blue".
It was very popular in the United States, enjoying high rankings on Billboard. The opening section is marked "Rubato", which means without a strict tempo. For playing along with Notation, I have simply made this section slower than the main theme. When you and a friend are playing it live, you can modify the tempo for expression. This is a fairly easy piece to play. We hope you enjoy it. Ralph Rayner |
