Default I'm not at all religious,

I'm not at all religious, but my friend Brian asked me to put my skills to the test and write a hymn to go with his words.

Hope you like it - the knack is to write something new that "sounds" like you've heard it before (well, that's my aim in melody writing, anyway).

Please let me know if there are any places to submit new hymns.

Love the notation software - find it much more user friendly than Sibelius.

cheers

Default Hi Adrian, I'd say you

Hi Adrian,

I'd say you fulfilled your goal. The musical and textual phrasing seem to make a good match. I presume there is a new verse for each repeat?

all best,

Default Sorry please reset the temp

Sorry

please reset the tempo to 60 beats per minute before listening to the hymn.

I saved it it on the default crotchet=120.

And MC Jacobs - thanks for comment. The extra verses are at the end in free text.

Default I've put the hymn on the s

I've put the hymn on the sharesong site for christian songs.

If you want to listen, go down the page to find "my gracious lord" and click on the icon for listening to the lo-fi mp3.

We were lucky to employ the services of a fine young vocalist.
