"Puttin' On The Ritz" is an oldie, but it is a fun song to play with the syncopation in the main theme. It was written by Irving Berlin in 1929. "Puttin' On The Ritz" was introduced in the musical film of the same name (1930). Fred Astaire made a popular recording of the song. The song got some new life in the 1974 Mel Brooks film, "Young Frankenstein", where Gene Wilder, as Frederick Frankenstein, and Peter Boyle as the Monster, do a song and dance rendition of the tune. Also, Wikipedia says, "A synthesized pop version by Taco peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in September 1983 and certified Gold by the RIAA." See both Fred Astaire's and Taco's videos on You Tube.

We hope you enjoy playing this song.
